The Walther PPX is the newest pistol in their lineup of fine firearms. It will be coming out next year, and is billed as an “entry level” pistol and priced to retail for under $500. It is supposed to be available in 9mm and .40 S&W, and appears to be a simplified version of the popular PPQ model. This is a DOA (double action only) pistol, contrary to the PPQ which is striker fired. The magazine release on the PPX has gone to the traditional button release, compared to the PPQ’s paddle style release. This looks to be an excellent gun for the money, and an excellent way to get yourself a reliable Walther pistol for under $500. You can see a video preview here.
Is it me, or does the Walther PPX slightly resemble a Hi-Point pistol?(see below) Not that there’s anything terribly wrong with Hi-Points (I own one), but they are just in a different league than the Walther firearm. For some reason though, when I first saw the photo of the Walther PPX, the first thing that came to mind was Hi-Point.
