The MTM Tactical Range Box is designed for those who like to clean their firearm immediately after a shooting session at the range. You can use it at home too, but the primary function of this range box is to serve as a portable gun cleaning station. I saw a guy using one of these at the range the other day and I had to check it out. I must say, I really like it.
As you can see from the photo, the MTM Tactical Range Box has an action block arm/stand that fits AR-15 style rifles, and it also has adjustable forks to rest other types of rifles or shotguns. The range box has a removable top storage box that works well for your small parts like brushes, patches and tools. The bottom portion has a deep well storage area for larger items.
I like the fact that they show the box along side a AR-15 so you can get a really good idea of the size. The guy I talked to at the gun club who had this range box couldn’t say enough good things about it. He said he paid around $60 for it at Bass Pro, but after looking around a bit online I found that Amazon has the MTM Tactical Range Box for only $44.

This box is great! I have 3 cleaning mats, gun scrubber, rags, and remoil all in the bottom compartment comfortably with the stands. All of my cleaning supplies and tools fit in this box with no problem. I’m not sure what the other reviewers were complaining about as far as it needing to be deeper or bigger. The AR mag well block works great. I haven’t had any issues with it being unstable. It does look like it would just fall over, but it is actually quite solid. It is well made, and I definitely recommend this box to anyone with an AR series, or any other type of rifle for cleaning or maintenance.
I will definitely be buying this tactical range box in the near future, and one thing I’m looking forward to is that extra space I’m going to have in my range bag now that I don’t have to cram a cleaning kit in there. I guess that will make some room for more ammo! 🙂
